Slimming Down With Pilates

Slim down with Pilates, loose weight get fit, strong and healthy with the Pilates exercise program!

What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system with and without apparatus based on these basic principles:
Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breathing, and Flowing Movement, is similar to yoga.

The aim is to improve flexibility and strength and to create a balance in the body. It includes comprehensive regulation of the physical functions and leads to physical and mental relaxation.

Because Pilates is not a joint-jarring exercise, it can be practiced by people at varying fitness levels. But make no mistake, this is indeed a workout. However, this exercise workout will leave you feeling invigorated and strong. Pilates will leave you feeling taller, leaner, energized and confident. The breathing exercises that accompany all Pilates movements will help you to feel calmer and more centered.

Can I get slimmer doing Pilates?
One of the best ways to look and feel thinner is to have beautiful posture. Pilates creates a leaner look by emphasizing both length and good alignment.
Pilates is supportive of weight loss. In many cases just beginning Pilates class, or a home routine, is enough to jump start weight loss. However, as time goes by you may find that your body becomes accustomed to your workout level.
Even if you can't move through a routine rapidly, do make sure that you get the most out of each exercise. Stretch to your fullest length at every opportunity, go for the extra scoop of the abs, breathe deeply, be precise, move with control and grace.
Working out more often is an obvious choice for weight loss and it can work like a charm. After all, the more opportunity you take to increase your respiration, build strength, and tone your muscles, the more weight you can lose and the trimmer you will appear.

Pilates is a safe and purposeful exercise designed to improve you strenght, flexibility, balance and coordination. If you have never tried Pilates, perhaps with just a few minutes each week, you too might find a new exercise that will benefit your for years to come.
